The Everyday Sandal I Didn’t Know I’d Wear Everywhere

Before flying out to the Philippines, I carefully packed a small rotation of reliable shoes: the Birkenstock Arizona EVA in Light Rose, On Cloud 6 in Pearl/White, Dolce Vita Nolah Heels in Cafe Multi, and UGG GoldenGlow Sandals in Seasalt. I figured I’d switch between them depending on the day’s outfit or activity, but to my surprise, one pair stole the show—the UGG GoldenGlow Sandals.

Out of all the shoes I brought, the GoldenGlow sandals were hands-down my most worn. Whether I was grabbing milk tea, riding in tricycles, heading to brunch, or wandering through markets, these sandals went with everything. There’s something about the Seasalt color—a soft, sandy off-white—that makes it the perfect neutral. It paired beautifully with summer dresses, denim shorts, linen sets—you name it.

The Material: Soft, Durable, and Surprisingly Luxe

The UGG GoldenGlow is crafted from a sugarcane EVA platform sole and features smooth synthetic leather straps that are soft to the touch. Unlike stiff sandals that need weeks to break in, these felt comfortable right away. The plush footbed and slight platform gave me that little lift I love without sacrificing comfort.

They're lightweight, easy to slip on, and the upper straps hug the foot in a secure but gentle way. The design feels minimal and modern, yet you still get that cozy, cushy UGG energy.

I loved how breathable they were in the humid weather, and they didn’t feel flimsy or slippery—two things I’m usually wary of when it comes to travel sandals.

The One Downside: Don’t Take Them Hiking

Here’s where I learned my lesson. I ended up on an unexpected hike (thanks to my cousin’s “quick walk” turning into an uphill adventure), and the inner balls of my feet got blistered from the friction. To be fair, the GoldenGlows were never meant to be trail shoes, and I definitely pushed their limits. For long treks, I would’ve been better off in my On Clouds.

That said, even after the blisters, I still found myself reaching for them. They were too easy not to wear, and for casual everyday use, they’re top tier.

Final Thoughts

If you’re looking for a go-to summer sandal you can wear on vacation, to brunch, or just around town—the UGG GoldenGlow in Seasalt is it. Just skip the hikes, and you’ll be golden. Literally.
